This is a three-day AFSIM training course targeted at all developers. Students will be guided by our expert instructors in an immersive training setting with meals and snacks provided.

The AFSIM developer training will cover, in general, how to create plugins for weapons, sensors, and create custom effects. Crucially, it will also cover the build environment configuration via CMake. It will also explore the backend architecture of AFSIM and include custom plugin and network protocol interfacing. This training serves as a baseline to begin learning how to modify the AFSIM backend and provide high-level familiarity with AFSIM’s over 2 million lines of code framework.

Please Note: Attendees of the AFSIM 102: Developer course are expected to have previously attended the AFSIM 101: User course or be a moderately experienced user of AFSIM.

The AFSIM 102: Developer course focuses on understanding and extending AFSIM’s underlying C++ codebase, and assumes the attendee is familiar with AFSIM models and applications.
